Ashley Merritt is an innovator when it comes to being artistic. She has a keen way of showing her love for art and the art of makeup. She always possessed a passion for drawing and art. In her words, she began drawing before she could write and painting faces just became natural. Ashley is a native of New Orleans and has been doing makeup over 8 years. She worked for MAC Cosmetics for 5 years as a Makeup Artist and Resident Trainer.
Ashley’s work has been featured in magazines such as Vanity Fair, People, Essence, Better Homes and Gardens, Art Nouveau, and CUE. Other projects that her work has been featured on include the Discovery Channel, MSNBC, Billy the Exterminator, and the Travel Channel. Some of the celebrities and personalities that Ashley has worked with are Danity Kane, Wendell Pierce, Andy Allo, Donna Tartt, and Greenday. Along with beauty and editorial makeup, Ashley is an innovator when it comes to horror fx and bodypainting. She has been the key makeup artists for the House of Shock Halloween Festival for the past 4 years.
She’s humorous and meticulous and everything has to be just right. Ashley loves to be a part of just creating….even the most horrifying things. She finds inspiration from all things; people, places, objects, textures, and fabrics. However, she has the ability to put it all together and it just makes sense.
